Old time Malachite specimen from the world renowned mineral location, Bisbee Arizona. The first picture reminds me of an oyster opening up to share it's wonderful treasure. In this case, it is opening up to show it's nice layer of velvet malachite.
This material was mined in the late 60's and although once plentiful, this vibrant Malachite has become rarer by the day. Discovered in an old collection, a few of these have become available. Don't miss the chance to pick one up.
